Getting away from the Linux game a bit I thought I would share a gem from my Windows side of things. This is how to remotely and silently remove Symantec s Antivirus.

Ahmet-Ankara s solution worked for me, saving me much bother The original solution did not work because I had no such registry key, it seems that symantec closed this loophole. And the manual uninstall is a joke, these guys at symantec are assess if they expect anyone to go at such length. Well thank you Ankara.

Worked. I can t believe it s this simple, but you should mention that you need to stop the services.

Start Run services.msc

Stop all Symantec processes then do this.
